Hi,
at the end of october I (male, 30yo) will stay at LV for a week. As I am going alone, I am thinking about the best choice for a hotel that meets my criteria:
- hotel with (mainly) people at my age, not too many families - focus is on party / meeting people
- located at the strip
- nice pool (is it warm enough at the end of october?)
- nice rooms
- maybe a good poker room
- room rates shouldn%26#39;t exceed 170$/day in average
Currently, I am thinking of the Flamingo, TI or Mirage - which one would you choose? What about the MGM?
Thanks lot for helping in advance!

The Mgm is great.. I just stayed there last month.... It%26#39;s on a great corner of the strip, very nice rooms (the softest beds ever). The end of October may be a lil cool for the pool, but if it%26#39;s still open the MGM had several pools and a lazy river.
Wow, thanks for the very quick replies!
@Robert:
Do you have any reasons for your ranking? Why not MGM? Why is the TI slightly better than the Mirage? Heard that the Mirage is a bit more family-oriented as the TI changed to a younger crowd?
@Pookaloki:
Thought I may be warm during midday for 2-3 hours? If not, I would forget about the pool ;-)
I would try Planet Holywood. Younger crowd, very cool casino, party atmosphere. This should def fit your bill.
End of October is iffy for pool weather - probably warm enough to swim in the afternoon if you want but there won%26#39;t be much of a pool ';scene';.
Similarly, I wouldn%26#39;t decide where to stay based on poker rooms - you can go and play poker anywhere you like without having to stay there.
I agree with the previous poster%26#39;s suggestion - Planet Hollywood might be a very good choice for you.
MGM is a great hotel, with a perfect location on the strip. You will find a wide range of people staying at this hotel, which might be better off for you. Mirage is a little more upscale then MGM or TI. TI and Mirage are located around the middle of the strip and both are great hotels. MGM has the best pool, with Mirage 2nd. IF you check out the promotions page for these hotels you might be able to get a good deal. Here are the links. I think MGM is still offering a fly back certificate for booking with them.

The Flamingo Go rooms is a perfect choice. 1st of all it has the best location yes great location out of the 3, it is center of the strip, so it makes it easy to get around in either direction, %26amp; you have Caesars Palace across the street if you decide to go to Pure or Pussycat Doll lounge. It has all the modern %26amp; Hi Tech electronic in the room, electronic drapery, beds are very comfy due to the Ultra Soft pillowtop Mattresses, one of the better pools, BTW (there are 4 of them) on the strip. You have Margaritaville for great fun %26amp; eats. You can check it out on Harrah%26#39;s website which is the following www.harrahs.com on top click on LV then hotel (Flamingo) also check out Hot Deals.
Mirage has construction going on, rooms aren%26#39;t all renovated, a dingy type place, rooms are smaller down on the north part of the strip.
TI doesn%26#39;t have a good vibe %26amp; also a little dingy, %26amp; on the north part of the strip.
MGM is way down south of the strip, makes it hard to get around on the strip.
You might want to check out Caesars, it%26#39;s a great place to stay. They also have 4 pools, adult pool, the best SPA on the strip, huge rooms, all marble huge bathroom, lots of choices in where to eat, The Forum for shopping, the staff is very friendly %26amp; helpful %26amp; lots of gaming area, %26amp; lots of great nightlife. You can check it out on Harrah%26#39;s website as well for all of the rooms top amenities, what they have to offer, %26amp; they also have Hot Deals
www.harrahs.com click on Caesars to check it out.
Have a great time in wherever you decide to stay at.
I second the vote for planet hollywood. Except for the pool which will probably be too cold in October it meets all of your requirements. I just got back from their in June, and it definitely had a cool, laid back, younger vibe (I%26#39;m 29).
The Caesars is a bit too expensive for me ($200+). The Planet Hollywood sounds good but is not yet completely renovated - and I would get Go-rooms or the Mirage for the same price ($150+), would be a good choice if cheaper. Needless to say, that TI is even cheaper...
...uhm, why finding a hotel room so hard...?
Any other suggestions to complete my confusion...? ;-) If not, it would bring me back to Mirage vs. TI vs. Flamingo - which one would you prefer in case of ignoring the pool?
TI .....Period.
