I am wondering if we should rent a car for the entire trip or just for one day.
We plan to be there for 3 days
Hoover Dam
Red Rock Canyon
Downtown Freemont ST
Can we walk to go downtown, take a cab or bus ?
What is the cheapest company to rent a car ?
Thank you

I would just rent it for the entire time and then you are free to change your plans if you need to. You can take a cab or bus Downtown if you don%26#39;t have a car. Or if you plan on drinking.
I have used Priceline %26amp; Hotwire to rent cars and have gotten good rates from them.

No brainer: rent for three days. Dollar is one reasonable car rental co.
If you are flying in to Las Vegas, you will need a car to get to your hotel and back to the airport when you leave. You will need a car to go to Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon. You can take a bus or cab from the strip to downtown but if you have a car it is an easy drive. Where are you staying and when will you be there?
For three days- I would rent a cab for the whole trip rather than one day. This way you don%26#39;t have to worry about getting to and from the airport. Also-renting from the airport is a lot cheaper than renting from a hotel (which has limited hours).
You cannot walk downtown. You can take a bus but it is sometimes very crowded and very slow. You might spend an hour or more (depending on where you are staying and when you are going) getting there. A cab might cost you $15/25-again depending on where you are staying and traffic.
Instead of going to Red Rock Canyon I would recommend going to Valley of Fire. Most people do combine it with at trip to Hoover Dam. The sandstone formations are incredible! It is much much better, bigger and more interesting than RRC.

I have almost always used Dollar or Thrifty and I never had a problem with either one. Check the other biggies- Avis, Hertz and Budget.
We will be at the Bally%26#39;s between sept 7th to 10th
Is there any charge for the parking at the hotel ?
How easy is it to park downtown ?
Thank you !
Parking is free and easy on the strip and downtown. You can self-park or valet park(tip when you get your car back). At some of the downtown hotels you have to get your ticket validated.
This site will give you some information on some of the hotel garages.
