chitown, will be in Vegas from the 17th to 19th and would love to meet for a drink (Meet %26amp; Greet) hopefully downtown. If you are leaving on the 18th it would need to be on the 17th. I%26#39;m in! zbethg

We%26#39;ll be meeting NiceSheffielder and his group at Carnival Court around 8 pm on the 19th if you want to join us.

If you must leave before the 19th, we%26#39;d love to meet somewhere before then. We%26#39;re arriving the 14th (late) and leaving the 21st.

Just booked my trip to Vegas yesterday. I will be there from the 14th - 19th. But my flight arrives late on the 14th. I%26#39;m so excited. The last time I went to Vegas was back in 2004.

Sorry my plans are quite set.

Technically, I am just changing planes on my way to Seattle for a big birthday but I set it up so I connect with my fight a few days later. I should arrive (to keep to my low budget creedo, via the 108 CAT bus) at the Fitz around 6:30 pm on Friday. I will need to deal with the necessary room stuff, then plan to go and pay my respects down east, then probably get on the 109 bus to explore Maryland Parkway. I am solo this trip with limited time and nothing else on my “To Do List” but explore and I will be moving fast to explore strange new dives, something that I really missed on my last few trips when I was just a lazy tour guide or sitting by the pool but no resting on my laurels this time. I will report most of what I find, who knows it may contain another Atomic.

There will be NO CRAWL this time but I will of course pause frequently at the Western and Atomic for restorative beverages so catch me if you can.

Ok I will make it easy, but only if there is a serious commitment to be there, I could be found around 7:30 pm on Friday at the Vue on the 2nd floor of the Fitz but will only have time for one or so drink before I head east. If someone wants to tag along east, that’s fine but then it’s off I go.

I am doing my research like a good explorer and finding dive bar gold, all a cheap bus ride away (Note that I consider it very bad form to arrive at and/or depart from a low life dive bar in a limo) or, worst case, a taxi ride if I have to keep ahead of an angry mob with torches and pitchforks. Here is the short list in no particular order:

BJ%26#39;s Tavern just a few block west of Hooters.

Stage Door kind of behind Bill%26#39;s, Spike took me there before.

Dino%26#39;s on the Strip north of the Strat, an old favorite of mine.

Aztec also near the Strat and also an old favorite of mine.

Freakin Frog a few block north of Tropicana on Maryland Parkway, Spike took me there once, close to the 109 bus line.

Champagnes on Maryland near Twain, Spike took me there before, it%26#39;s on the 109 bus line.

Davey%26#39;s Locker on Desert Inn near Maryland and close to Champagnes, close to the 109 bus line

Huntridge on Charleston and Maryland, it%26#39;s on the 109 bus line.

Just Jazz 2 blocks west of Maryland on Sahara, close to the 109 bus line. Their hours are limited, so this is a maybe.

Ice House 650 South Main Street, between Bonneville and Charleston, we passed it a few times in the car.

Stateside 931 North Las Vegas in scary old North Las Vegas on the 113 bus line.

Gabe%26#39;s is near Jerry%26#39;s Nugget, a few blocks further north of Stateside on the 113 bus line, I was there once before with the Mailman a great place, no need to be buzzed in but there are bars on the windows to make some of the patrons feel more at home.

I will also be asking the locals for suggestions as I go for that is the best way to explore.

Wish I could join you Chitown but I already have a trip set for Labor day weekend. 2 weeks after you leave Vegas. Hope you have a fun and safe trip. Looking forward to reading your opinions of the places you visit.
