Do you ever go anywhere else?

As much as we love Vegas we decided to take a break last year and went to Cocoa Beach in Florida instead. Nice place, but we spent the whole time reminding each other of exactly what we could have been doing in Vegas!

We%26#39;re booked into the Mirage for 10 days over Christmas, but before then we have two weeks off in September and I%26#39;ve been looking around for ideas of where to go. Unfortunately everything I see leaves me cold.

Please somebody give me a suggestion of somewhere that%26#39;s as much fun as Las Vegas!!!!

Do you ever go anywhere else?

I guess it all depends on what you like to do. We see Vegas as a weekend getaway and not a vacation. Our favorite place for vacationing is the Caribbean. Lush beautiful beaches, exciting nightlife and casinos on many of the islands.

Do you ever go anywhere else?

We too are from the uk. We love Vegas!! But we also love mexico and the caribean. Not as fast/ wild but the service and hotels are out of this world if you book a good hotel. x

Thanks for the suggestions - will go check out Caribbean hols (and whether the credit card will stretch that far!).

Cocoa Beach isn%26#39;t Florida%26#39;s best beach vacation - too commercial. Check out Sanibel %26amp; Captiva Islands on the Gulf Coast. Laid back, real Florida. It%26#39;s where we go with the family. Vegas is the grown up spot. There%26#39;s great shelling, fishing, lots of dolphins, manatee, amazing food and complete relaxation.

If you%26#39;re looking for the action of Vegas, this won%26#39;t be it, but for the opposite, to just relax and feel like you need to do nothing but drink something fruity on a beach, this is the place.

Of course we go elsewhere - LV isn%26#39;t our vacations, it%26#39;s business or a quick few days.

Cocoa wouldn%26#39;t be the first place I%26#39;d suggest for a FL vacation - we have homes in FL and I can%26#39;t even suggest Broward or Dade County anymore - they sure were great places 40 years ago though. In FL the Keys, the panhandle and Lee County Islands are still nice. Amelia Island also.

From the UK how about Spain or the Greek Isles? Or Croatia - a real gem and then hop over to Italy - one of our fav places to meet our kids who live in the UK %26amp; France.

The world is at your disposal, decide on what type of trip your%26#39;d like, budget and timing and see what suits you

The whole world leaves you cold? Hmmm! My favorite place in this world- Greece! If I could live there- I would. I also loved Italy, France, Germany- heck, just about anyplace in Europe. I just got back from Argentina (second time) and I absolutely loved it! Within the US- the San Diego area is great and so is New York City (luckily, I live ';next door';).

You are not going go find anyplace like Vegas- or NYC, or Greece. Every place has its own excitement and it is up to you to explore it and enjoy it. If you go with the attitude- this isn%26#39;t Vegas- you are not going to be happy!

Head to New Zealand, hire a campervan and tour the South and North Island.

I bet as you turn a corner and see yet another an amazing snow capped mountain vista ahead of you, Vegas will well and truly be at the back of your mind.
