staying at signature MGM grand...what tower do you recommend

Hi

Tower 1 is the oldest tower, but closest to MGM - tower 3 is the furthest away, but there is a gate onto Harman Avenue which will get you to the strip quickly.

There are moving walkways between the towers and MGM and there has been some discussion on this forum regarding how long it takes to get from Signature towers to MGM/The strip. Someone did take a computerised pedometer and calculated it all - which I%26#39;m sure you will find it you do a forum search on MGM Signature... Very interesting post!

Can%26#39;t help with best views, but would imagine the higher floors provide the better the views.

Have a great holiday :o)

Towers are pretty much the same one from the other, except these small details...

- Starbucks is in tower 1 only.

- The hotel%26#39;s little restaurant is in tower 2.

- So there is no food outlet in tower 3 (but they have room service or a short walk).

- Fitness centers are located in towers 1 and 3 (none in tower 2).

- The moving walkway is located halfway between tower 1 and 2. So from tower 3, you have to walk thru tower 2%26#39;s lobby to get to the walkway.

- All towers have a pool and hot tubs by the lobby. All towers have their own lobby and valet parking.

If you%26#39;re not picky as for walking, I would go with tower 3 as it%26#39;s the newest.

As for the view, just ask for the view you%26#39;re looking for - of course the higher the better usually. I was in tower 3, high (33th level if I recall well) and a view of the mountains and the airport, which I didn%26#39;t mind since I%26#39;ve seen the Strip often (and you can%26#39;t expect such a spectacular view of the Strip when you%26#39;re off the Strip). Beware also of construction going on next block, so by looking for a ';strip-side'; room, you might have a view of a giant crane or two in the picture. It%26#39;s not close enough to mind the noise, but I%26#39;d rather see mountains and airport traffic in the far view than a construction building.

As for your meal, I would suggest heading for Planet Hollywood and go to the Spice Market Buffet. If you%26#39;re in tower 3, it%26#39;s a cutoff to go out by the lobby and enter the Miracle Mile Shops to get to PH. Just ask a clerk at the hotel for directions.

With that meal, you won%26#39;t be needing to eat anymore for the entire day after. ;-)

thanks SebQuebec!

What a wonderful response!

so informative!

I have another post listed ...asking about things that are a %26#39;must see%26#39; or a %26#39;must do%26#39;.

we are going to Carrot Top on the monday night?

suggestions for sunday, tuesday and wed night?

kbee:)

Try for a Mountain view on 15th floor or up. Then head for Emeril%26#39;s for the first nights meal.

You will love the Sig!!!
