Need ideas

Well im coming to vegas in september and was going to see the sights and sounds with the misses, however a few weeks ago we split leaving me with the holiday all to myself...which i wasnt worrying about as ive read loads on this site about going solo.

Well to my surprise this week my dad has told me hes bought a plane ticket to vegas and is coming with me lol

So.....after spending months gearing up for a romantic holiday and organising everything around it....i now need ideas for a father son bonding holiday lol btw im 27 and hes 58...any ideas?

See the same sights just leave the romance out of the trip :(

(sorry you had a falling out with your relationship, but many people have posted enjoyable trips with their parents so hope it works out for you)

Need ideas

sorry about the split ...same thing happened to me but with Maui...although I ended up getting her to go since the plan ticket was non-refundable.

how about a skydive? or at least indoor skydiving? Obviously some time for gambling a couple nice meals. There are cigar shops and lounge areas at many hotels. Perhaps getting suited up and enjoying a brandy and a cigar.

I would check out a Cirque show, if you are a Beatles fan LOVE at Mirage is an AWESOME show, there is also KA and Mystere. Gambling, Pool, there are plenty of bars you can go to (Nine Fine Irish Men at NYNY), walk the strip, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyons.

Here is the link to LOVE - check it out …atdmt.com/MGM/…

I already had tickets to mystere...though not sure if its my dads type of thing though....but im liking the idea of a beatles show....hes a hugh beatles fan....its a shame the monty pythan show has ended he would have loved that too!

I think we%26#39;ll deffinatley go to the dam, i already had a car for a few days so he%26#39;ll like doing the tour there.

The sights i still want to do.....see everything down the strip though the heat may be a concern (hes from wales and they have no heat there at all...period lol)

I can already see from just a few replies that we should have something to do all the time....as always the people on here are a great help :)

have a night up freemont street.

it is a good night in the piano bar too

Love is a fantastic show in every respect. It is not like Mystere at all (I have seen Mystere, Love, O and Ka- and liked them in that order). If you do go- you do not have to get the most expensive tickets. As with most Cirque shows- things will be going on around and above you (the theater is small and in the round) so I would suggest you not sit too close to the stage. I sat in the last row and I was happy with the seat- I could see everything with no problems.

If he like autos- the Imperial Palace has a really nice Auto Exhibit. I enjoyed it and I have no interest in cars. Here is the website with a coupon to get in free:

If he liked Elvis- Big Elvis at Bill%26#39;s puts on a very nice afternoon show. Very entertaining and there is no cover charge. Don%26#39;t be put off by his weight.

As long as you are going to Hoover Dam- go to Valley of Fire. It has spectacular sandstone formations that are out of this world. You can either drive from formation to formation or hike on some of the trails. Either way- I consider it a must see.

Although this is definitely NOT my thing: some people have enjoyed shooting guns at the Gun Store. From what they say- it is expensive.

Also....Theres a car Exhibit? Forget my dad now, im really into my cars, a proper petrolhead....how did i not know this....you%26#39;ve made my evening!! hehe....and they sell cars? forget betting im taking my money here lol

Think i will give him a call tomorrow and see what he thinks about the beatles show
