We are staying at Gold Coast three nights Labor Day Sept 1. DH is going w/ friends to Judas Priest at Palms. Is Playboy club worth $20 admission? I undersatand this cover also gets you into the other club above, forgot the name-Moon? How will these places be onLabor Day-crowded?
What ese to do in the area since we wont hae a car this time? We plan on hanging at Palms Monday night.
Maybe shuttle to strip on Tuesday and probably same on Wednesday. But since this is our home base, wondered any casual eateries/clubs in this area? Anyone been to Thai Spice? Is food OK to eat at Gold Coast-will probably have coupons.
Area near Rio and the Palms
Since Monday is the last day of the holiday weekend, many people will be leaving Las Vegas on that day. So on Monday night, I would not think that the nightclubs at Palms would be unusually crowded.
In the past I have found the food at Gold Coast to be excellent and reasonably priced. There are also several restaurants at Rio and Palms. VooDoo Lounge is always a fun place to hangout especially on weeknights when it%26#39;s not jam packed. Or you can have drinks at iBar and check out the new Microsoft electronic bar tables.

Thanks Stratton-your posts are always so helpful! where is iBar?
There isn%26#39;t much to do in that area besides hit up the three casinos. I%26#39;ve been to buffet at GC - it%26#39;s one of the better bang for the buck buffets and coupons make it a great deal. There are also some decent mid and higher end restaurants at Rio.
i went to moon/playboy club recently and i thought it was worth the $30 cover they made us guys pay. depends on what you think is worth it. you can use this site below to make reservations and if you%26#39;re female, you wont have to pay cover.

cab rides to the strip are literally 5 bucks from the palms
Yes, I have eaten at Thai Spice. It is a very nice Thai restauant and I was always satisfied with my meals there. Is it the best Thai restaurant in Vegas? No, but I never regretted eating there. I have also been to Pasta Mia- which is in the same general area. The food is fine (large portions at dinner) but not fantastic. Both are solid restaruants for a casual meal. You can also walk to Chinatown Plaza (take Wynn Road ';behind'; the GC) where they serve some authentic Asian food. The restaurants there are not fancy-to say the least.
I haven%26#39;t eaten at the GC in a while but I did eat at Ping Pang Pong and the food was good- again- not great. It is (or was) open until 3AM and both times I ate there very late (or early)- around 1:30-2AM.
Thanks for everyones help. It looks like from that website they are closed Mon Sept 1, unless I%26#39;m reading it wrong!
We went to the playboy club in January. I can think of better ways to spend the cover.
FYI they made my wife pay cover. And she is knock dead gorgeous.
They have blackjack, $25 minimums.
$10 cocktails, vodka/cranberry.
It was nice to say I went, but wouldn%26#39;t go back.
Just me I guess.
yeah, it looks like moon is closed on mondays but playboy club is open. i wouldn%26#39;t pay cover just to get in playboy club though, better deal for both.
I would be careful about walking any back streets
in the area of these casinos.
