A host is someone who helps look after you when booking your trip and during your trip.

What you get depends on your level of play(i.e how much and how long you gamble).

Most casinos will have slot hosts(for slot players ) and table hosts.

They may give you free or discounted rooms,free meals and drinks,shows ,limos,cabanas,spa treatments etc.

However nothing is free as what you get is only a percentage of what the casino expect you to lose on your visit.

If you have been given free or discounted rooms they expect a certain level of play.

Normally a host will approach you or if you go to the players club before you check out they will have a look at your history and comp you something and give you a card for a host to contact before your next visit.

You CAN request the casino to assign a host to you, and they will evaluate your level of play and if it warrants it, they will assign you one. I have never done this. I don%26#39;t know if it is worth it to have a host assigned to me; I just call the casino, ask the operator for a table host, and deal with whichever host is on duty. He/she pulls my history up on computer. I don%26#39;t know if this works out any differently than having an assigned host.

Whenever I have been ';assigned'; a host, the host has approached me while I have been gambling and introduced him/herself. This has happened both while I%26#39;ve been playing slots and BJ. Someone is monitoring the play levels and/or the computers are programmed to monitor them, and when there is a certain level, a host is sent out to make contact.

Hosts are casino-specific, but they MIGHT be able to help you with a related property. For example, if you are a small to medium sized whale, your MGM host can get you tickets for LOVE at Mirage (both of these casinos are owned by MGM-Mirage). However, even if you are only a large minnow, your Mirage host can get you the very same tickets, since those are in-house.

Most people dont have or need hosts, it all depends on you level of play, most of your play is recorded anyhow, that said having a host does at times make things very easy as far as booking a specific room, setting up reservations at your hotels restaurants, making sure you have a limo if you want one to pick you up at the airport, comp show tickets plus other requests you might have. With so much high tech today I truly believe that hosts are becoming a dying breed.

Why would you want a host if you have no idea what a host is? If I told you I had a ';zrflblim';, would you want that too?

I am probably not the one who should be answering this because my level of play doesn%26#39; even qualify me for a free buffet let alone a casino host.

Maybe the question would be better asked, how many thousands of dollars do I need to gamble before I can expect a host to be assigned to me?

That question would probably be best answered by the casino where you intend to gamble.
