single 27 yr old men coming to laughlin clubs? sports book?

Hello Laughlin! It%26#39;s been awhile but a friend and I are going to be visiting there aug.20th-23rd and staying at the riverside resort. I live in davenort,ia now but i used to live in so.cal. I would always go with my family out there for the weekend cuz the rooms were so cheap. I was always too young to gamble or do any of the fun things laughlin has to offer. Now im 27 and im taking a friend out there with me cuz we found a deal for hotel=airfare for only $249.00!! too good to pass up.His wife just divorced him and thought this would be a cool cheap trip to get him back in the swing of things. Its been 10 yrs so im sure things have changed since ive been there but i was wondering if someone could point out things we should do there including maybe best mexican food and where the best sports book is. we love the cubs and would like to have a few drinks and watch the game. any info would be much appreciated!

Vegas is gonna be a better bet for you guys. Laughlin is mostly an older crowd and not many young guys/girls in their 20%26#39;s and 30%26#39;s. Vegas has all that and a lot more!

Just an observation...

thank you, like i said before. weve both been to vegas. been there, done that. we got an extremely cheap deal to go to laughlin and i thought itd be fun. obviously vegas is probably going to be more fun. been to laughlin before and i know it is a much older crowd. looking for info from a local i suppose. really we just want to rent a waverunner, play some sportsbook, maybe some poker and blackjack and visit a decent bar. looking to kick back, not necessarily party the whole time.

I think you will enjoy Laughlin very much.

Golden Nugget has Tarzan%26#39;s that is night/dance club. Much younger crowd there.

Riverside has Loser%26#39;s lounge,same thing.

For a nice bar can I recommend the Sassy Sue%26#39;s Saloon at the Pioneer. Many good micro brews on tap and possibly the best riverview possible. Also big screens everywhere.

I%26#39;m not a sports bettor but the popular opinion is that the sports book at the Edgewater is the best.

For dinner on Wed or Thur of your stay you might consider the happy hour at The Saltgrass Steakhouse bar. It runs 4 to 7pm, $1 off mixed drinks, $1 draft beer and all appetisers half price. A couple beers, split a salad and a couple appetisers for less than $20. And Carlos the bartender is really great.

The best part is you can hike up and down Casino drive and check out all the properties to see where you are the most comfortable.

Check out other posts on this forum for more ideas.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

thank you cashchik. yah, tarzans looks like a pretty rad spot. we%26#39;ll definetly check out the riverwalk and see all the other places. has anyone had the beer at the boiler room? we love micro brews. heard they have good wings there too. do they still have drafts for .75 cents on thursdays? we%26#39;ll be there wed.-sat.

Looks like they have 25 cent wings on Wed, and .75 beer on Thursday%26#39;s. We have not been there in 11 months or so, but it%26#39;s always one of our fun spots to hit, the beer is pretty good too! It get%26#39;s pretty lively there on weekends, bands/music, etc.....

Tarzan%26#39;s is good club I%26#39;d go there. When I was there it was packed with 20-30 year olds dancing and having a good time on Friday and Saturday nights. Good DJ spinning various club music. It also had raunchy dueling pianos on Friday night that was fun.

Good place to hang out in the daytime for games as well as there%26#39;s quite a few flat panels. Drinks are regular bar prices pretty much. But the Nugget is on top of free drinks so it%26#39;s easy to just go play slots for a few minutes and get a drink that way too.

Mexican food Baja Blue at Harrah%26#39;s is pretty good, average prices and a great build your own top shelf margarita.

dlee, I%26#39;ll not lecture you like those who don%26#39;t seem to get the point that you%26#39;re going to Laughlin, not Vegas.

And for all the bluehaired lungers chain smoking, gasping off the oxygen tank and putting the Metamucil money into Miss Piggy slots, you guys will have fun; yet buds, and that%26#39;s all that matters.

Tarzan%26#39;s might be your best bet for a nightspot. The brew pub has decent brews but after dining there for many years it has just gone down the toilet food-wise as we%26#39;ve experienced during our last couple (very recent) visits. There is a core of younger folks in Laughlin, and particularly during river season. You%26#39;d probably be best served at Harrah%26#39;s, but of course the Laughlin experts will chime in here and tell you how wrong I am. lol But with the beach and the theme, Harrah%26#39;s has consistently captured more of the young uns than say the TropiTomba. Aquarius should be given a look-see as well.
