How far in advance do the big hotels book their big acts?

Hi all,

Wondering whether someone can help me on this?

Myself and my wife are going to Vegas for the first time over the last weekend of September and were wondering what is the likelihood of another big act being booked by one of the big strip hotels between now and the end of Sept?

Only asking, as we are only probably going to attend one show with my wife badgering me to book Cher tickets at Casears Palace as soon as possible, as that is the one she fancies out of her and Barry Manilow, who seem to be the only big shows on for the weekend in question.

I have been telling her to wait and see if anybody else will be playing at the end of Sept so I was just wondering if anybody would know this and whether you think we might as well book our Cher tickets now or wait and see if any other big shows may be advertised by the big hotels in the meantime?

Sorry for the large question, any advice???

I would book now. It%26#39;s only two months out from now and any big names playing one-off shows (I%26#39;m guessing this is what you%26#39;re concerned about) will almost certainly have been confirmed by now if they were happening.

Yeah, that was my main concern but I was thinking that it is a bit short notice for a big name headliner to be booked up between now and Sept!

Many thanks again for your advice Blagger, much appreciated!

Blagger is right, book right away as all events would have already been scheduled. If you think about it, in order for a show to be added that would mean there has to be a venue that is not currently booked. Even if a promoter wanted to schedule a concert now they probably couldn%26#39;t find a vacant venue.

And the concerts that usually play at the MGM arena or the MB center are often parts of national tours, and this just happens to be thier Las Vegas stop.

It sems to be that things are booked no later than three months out for regular headliners like Cher or Seinfeld. The other big acts tend to be music acts on tour and those are announced as tour schedules are released but even then, if something was scheduled for your dates, there should have been an inkling of it by now.
