Do ';Slot Strategies'; exist?

Curious to hear about everyone%26#39;s luck or strategies they may have had while playing slots. I%26#39;ve seen the shows on Travel Channel, and know that slots are all computerized and random. I%26#39;ve also read however that even so, there are better places in a casino than others to play slots, i.e. ';slot islands'; are better than machines that are close to the tables, or buffets. Also have heard that the big ';name brand'; machines like WOF, Red-White-Blue, etc., are better machines than some others. Any experiences that can confirm this?

15 day countdown! 10yr anniversary!

Do ';Slot Strategies'; exist?

My strategy is... DON%26#39;T PLAY SLOTS!!! But hey, to each their own.

Do ';Slot Strategies'; exist?

Play the maximum if possible,i try to stay away from the 5 wheel machines. If its your day its your day$$ Good Luck ,once early morning after the crowds were gone i couldnt lose its all luck$$$$

Congrats on the anniversay and happy slot play$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Usually the off strip casinos have a better return rate then on strip casinos or casinos close to the strip. There is no doubt in my mind that over the past 10 years the machines have gotten tighter and tighter.

Some of the places on strip such as IP or Harrahs might be better to pump the slots then say the Bellagio or venetian.

The only strategies I use is always play max coin in, if you cant, then move down to a 2 coin machine or drop from say a $1.00 machine to a .50 cent machine.

Those carousels that advertise the higher percentage give aways are a bit deceiving, out of say 20 machine Only ONE has to meet the requirement.

Good luck

Last time I was in vegas I had luck with the strategy of looking for machines that just paid off large $500+... Thinking they were ';hot';.. anyway, I won 3 x $1000 on diferent machines doing this.. maybe luck, maybe something to it. who knows

Thanks for the congrats.

I agree that if your going to play, no matter the denomination, you should always play the max. Too many times I%26#39;ve heard of people only playing minimum and hitting...only to get a portion of what they could have received.

I guess you can%26#39;t take it too seriously. Having fun, which is why we all go, is the most important thing.

A haggard looking old woman once told me this in a casino, so if it%26#39;s bunk, blame her, but here it is:

On reel-type machines, you can look through the glass past the third reel. Look to the right. You%26#39;ll see some of the inner workings of the machine. On some machines, there will be two little mechanical counters, one right on top of the other.

The two numbers represent the coins put in the machine, and the coins paid out of the machine. So, logically, you want to play machines where the numbers are as close as possible to one another. The larger the differential, the ';worse'; the machine.

You know, I%26#39;ve actually seen those counters before but didn%26#39;t really know what they meant. I%26#39;ll keep a lookout for them. Thanks.

It is random computer chip that controls your ';juices';.

You need to (1) understand the game you are going to play and (2)If payout is $800 on 1 play and $1600 on 2 play, no big deal on max coins (until you hit, then you hate your self). But any progressive, free spin (wheel of fortune) stuff like that on 3rd reel, always play max. Same when you have 1 play $800 2 play $10,000.00 or over 1/1 now you have to play the max!

Remember the casinos allow the manufactures to place their machines in the casino for part of the coin in. The manufacture is paying out the payouts, but if there are no winners you will have no customers.

My host says there was truth to many casinos having ';active'; islands in areas where many people pass by and get attention. The machine even had counters on the back and if you had a long time employee ther, they could help, if you know what I mean. If you won and did not tip, you would never find a ';good machine again on that island. You do not see these ';islands'; much anymore. They require attendants, which mean overhead and hotels are cutting back on employees eveywhere possible.

As to putting the ';hot'; machines next to buffet, forget it. Everyone waiting in line will drop a dollar or two in any machine by the line while waiting and it is normally crowed in this area. (Hey you may have something here, maybe this is where they hide the machines that pay out to make up the 80% required by law!) Whoo woo!

Happy Anniversary and if you are in the Mirage and/or Belliago stop by we will buy you a drink. Will be there in 12 days for 12 days. You will find us by the buffets playing those slots! Thanks for the tip.

I%26#39;ll definately look you up. Staying at TI (again)during same timeframe. Appreciate the info. Enjoy your stay and good luck!
