My wife had an automobile accident that will take a long time before she will be able get around very far without a wheel chair. I don%26#39;t know the logistics of making this happen. Do I rent one where we live and check it in as baggage so I will have it in Vegas or do they rent them in the airport in Vegas or are there other options that I need to consider. Any advice would be useful. Thanks
Wheelchair use
My cousin broke his foot once right before a trip tp Vegas,... I found out that Vegas is very Wheel Chair frendly. The Hotel we stayed at (Hooters) let us borrow a wheelchair. I%26#39;m not sure if it was free or if we paid something minimal like $15. Getting around Vegas is not to dificult. Taxis know how to fold your chair and make it fit in the trunk. I would check with your hotel and see if they have Wheelchairs for loan/rent. Most Hotels in Vegas have a few wheelchairs for their disabled guests.
Wheelchair use
I am interested in answers here, too. Bringing my mom in November and although she is mobile, having diabetic neuropathy really curtails her walking after a while. We may not even need one, but when she starts hurting, its bad and I don%26#39;t want her trip to be ruined. Does anyone know where to get one for use outside the hotel? Yes, I can look it up, but thought someone might have had experience with this already.
Thanks,
Mrs. G
Alert the airlines when you book.
They can send a wheelchair to get you from the curb, while you check in curbside, or go inside.
Then at McCarran, they will already know you need a wheelchair (alert your flight attendant)and will send one to the plane, to get you back to the curb for a taxi.
Also alert the hotel you%26#39;re staying at. They will also get her from the cab.
Here%26#39;s info from the MGM sight for free wheelchairs or scooter pricing:
We have both wheelchairs and motorized scooters available for MGM Grand guests, depending upon availability at check-in. There is no charge for wheelchairs, however a credit card must be provided as a deposit. Wheelchairs can be used off property. Scooters may be rented at the following rates:
$40 per day
$70 (2) days
$105 (3-4) days
I have only had to do it once, so I hope I got it all correct =)
And good luck to you two in Vegas!
Mrs G MGM%26#39;s can be used off property. Had no problems last year when I took my mom.
ACEY, it is so worth the price for an electric wheelchair. While a wheelchair is nice it is difficult for someone to push themselves around or someone else. Both you and she will have a better time and they do have wheelchair cabs as you can take the electric wheelchairs off the property.

zbeth%26#39;s correct. If you wife can handle it get a motorized scooter. I started developing a calis (sp?)
