Hotel Loyality

How loyal are you to a particular hotel and do you believe it helps?

We are about to embark on another trip to our favorite city. We%26#39;re not high rollers by any means, usually just enough to get a few free meals and a bit knocked off our bill at check out.

Usually get to make a trip every couple of years. We go into it not expecting to get anything for free. We reserve and pay for what we want. We%26#39;ve stayed at a variety of places. The last visit to vegas was a solo for myself and a 2nd visit to the Mirage (which we love). It was the only time a visit was repeated to a hotel. We always tried different places. On this visit the check in clerk was extremely nice. She had our records upon check in and asked if my husband was joining me. I explained no, this was a solo visit to myself for my birthday. Told her I wasn%26#39;t planning on gambling much but instead planned on enjoying the pool, spa and just general relaxation.

I had booked my trip through Travelocity, including the hotel. She told me when we come back to be sure and book directly through the hotel, that way, she said we can offer you more. But none the less, she got me into a gorgeous room at 9:00 am and within a few minutes of arriving in my room a beautiful boquet of flowers were delivered with best wishes for my birthday. Nice touch. I proceeded and throughly enjoyed my solo visit. It was great for my spirit. On my last night there (had a 6:00 am flight home), when I went to my room early evening to change for dinner, I had a message on my phone asking me to stop by the Players Club desk (yes, we join all the players clubs). Gave them my card, which did not have many points on it at all. They asked if I would like to take a limo ride on the strip. I said I didn%26#39;t realize I had enough points for anything and she said it was just their way of thanking me for returning to the Mirage. I thanked them for their generosity but declined, didn%26#39;t think it would be much fun solo. Then asked if I wanted tickets to a show or if there was anything they could offer me. I again thanked them and told them about my early flight out and had planned to have dinner and retire. They gave me a comp for the buffet and a pass for the line. I hadn%26#39;t intended to do the buffet that night but accepted their generosity and proceeded to the buffet.

Now that we are planning our next visit we%26#39;re trying to decide if we should return to the Mirage and see what happens. We receive regular offers for reduced rates but have never received any comp offers for rooms. My husband thinks its worth a try to see how the service goes and if anything is offered. Me, I%26#39;m always up for trying somewhere new.

So I%26#39;m curious what you folks think, has loyality to a particular hotel helpd you, even when you%26#39;re not high rollers?

Hotel Loyality

I didn%26#39;t read your post just the heading, do you think Loyalty helps?

I think its one of the biggest deciding factors when it comes to comps, it applies to the group of Hotels also like the MGM group. They are watching You.

Hotels love to see the same people coming back year after year and many take more then just a few trips per year.

Hotel Loyality

I think I am rather loyal to the Total Rewards hotel group. I get vouchers for free stays, so I play at their hotels.

I like the Sahara. They are a stand-alone hotel casino. They just started doing the rewards / comp thing. I am going to make sure that I pay them a visit next time. They sent me a nice voucher back in January.

I am not a high roller. I play the low risk slots. But, I play enough to earn a comp%26#39;d hotel stay. Yes, use your player%26#39;s card and I would maintain my loyalty to those who send me comp%26#39;s.

What works for one may not work for others. We are loyal to 2-3 properties - and for us it works since we visit quite often. We simply call our host with dates, never wait for or pay attention to offers.

Your circumstance is quite different - for a visitor who makes a trip every couple of years, as you say you do, loyalty counts for THAT trip. I always suggest people play where they stay, if they do move around do it in the group, if there is one - although this does discount your play at your ';home'; some and does affect what a true host can do - although it seems you may not need a host, the player%26#39;s club may be fine.

For low-level slot play HET works for many, for low level table games MGM group seems to be better.

Comps, as you know, are earned through play - and although you might stay on a club%26#39;s radar for a few years it is unlikely you will receive great offers 2-3 years out.

For people in your situation I think you should play where you stay, no question about it, UNLESS you are staying somewhere you do not want to return to and want to get on another club%26#39;s radar - in which case play none where you stay and give the new place a GREAT single day - not spread out - but 1 high play day. See how that works for you.

For someone who visits once evry 2-3 years I%26#39;d look for the best offers for that time.

The players club will know how much you played and where you stayed in their group of hotels.

The Mirage seems to have a high level for comped rooms. They expect 6000 points a day. so most people do get the cut rate offers but if your getting comped rooms, you are a serious player. The Mirage will look at your play at the end of a trip and comp you one, two or three nights but they are definitely not as easy as the MGM, NYNY, TI or Luxor.

I wonder why that is? All of these hotels are owned by the MGM Mirage so you%26#39;d think they operated similarly in that respect. Perhaps Mirage is more center strip and a higher demand property?

I stayed at the Mirage, but did most of my rated play at TI.

Mirage had no problems comping me at the end of my stay.

Loyalty does pay. I have been staying at Harrah%26#39;s for over 25 years and love it. I wouldn%26#39;t stay anywhere else.

I usually go to Vegas twice a year and always play where I stay. I am now a Diamond member and my room is always comped and get great offers for shows too.

Because the Mirage is considered to be more upper scale then TI, NYNY and so on, just like the Bellagio takes a little more play action then the Mirage.

I%26#39;m not much on loyalty, love to try new places. Though I was stuck on the Signature last year, stayed 3 times. But I always get drawn to the newest and best, and I don%26#39;t gamble enough.

I%26#39;m fairly loyal to Boyd properties not particularly on purpose but I usually go for rates not brands. I always have something coming in from them but I have become fairly loyal to Four Queens with some very good return offers even free weekends which so far I have not received from Boyd properties.

I also like to add a new property per trip just to put the radar out there. It seems anymore Vegas properties no matter where are very free with their offers due to the slowing Vegas traffic. My only complaint is the El Cortez. I have stayed there and gambled there many time because of the low limit bj but have never not ever received a thing from them. If I don%26#39;t get anything from my December trip, I doubt I stay there again and just stick to the 4 Queens or one of the Boyd properties downtown.
