Hello--
I%26#39;ll be in Vegas next week (a biz trip with add-on for pleasure). Staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the Strip (across the strip from Sahara, near Circus Circus). Booked the following shows:
* Jubilee @ Bally%26#39;s, 10:30 PM show on Thurs Aug 7, have tickets printed out from the Ticketmaster website
* KA @ MGM, 7 PM show on Friday Aug 8. Purchased, but will need to stop by the ticket office to pick up the tickets.
What time would you suggest arriving at these theaters for the shows? I would think 1 hr for Jubilee, 90 min to 2 hours for KA. I%26#39;ll have a car and will be driving from my hotel, parking at Bally%26#39;s/MGM. I was thinking of planning 20 min to get to Bally%26#39;s, and probably 30-45 min to MGM (probably the back way). Do those sound accurate?
I get to Vegas 4-5 times a year, mostly for biz, and almost always rent a car and drive around. I%26#39;ve stayed at the HGVC before and loved the place (great room, gym, pool). I%26#39;ll be again in mid-Sep (biz trip) at Mirage.
Any recommendations for early dinner (or snack then late dinner) in/around MGM other than Emmeril%26#39;s (did that before)?
Arrival times to see Jubilee and KAWill be seeing Ka a couple nights before you..can%26#39;t wait!
If you want to keep with the Asian theme of the show I would recommend Shibuya at MGM studio walk...I can testify that the sushi is top notch and supposedly they have excellent Saki (didn%26#39;t try it tho).
Arrival times to see Jubilee and KAI second the nomination for Shibuya at MGM! We ate there before Ka earlier this month and the sushi was amazing. Great food, excellent service and a cool atmosphere to boot (and it%26#39;s close to the theater).
And Ka was absolutely incredible..you are in for a treat!
Your seats at Jubilee! (and most likely for KA, too) are reserved, so you can arrive by 10:20 and be seated in time to see the show. If you want to get a drink before the show begins, allow a little more time. Jubilee! always starts on time. It isn%26#39;t necessary to arrive as early for a show as you%26#39;re currently planning. Enjoy.
I would try and pick up your Kà tickets ahead of actually going to the show. There can sometimes be very long lines at Will Call prior to a performance. If you already have the tickets it%26#39;s one less thing to worry about regarding your schedule on the night of the show.
You can pick them up anytime from a box office at any MGM Mirage property (not just MGM Grand).
Admittedly we were staying in the MGM Grand and had printed our tickets off at home prior to travel to the USA but we only got to the KA theatre about 15mins before the start.
We went down earlier but it was quite quiet so we went off and had a drink in Centrifuge first. When we got back the crowd had built up but it was still a pleasant mingle and walk up to our seats.
KA is awesome. Enjoy.
Thanks to all the replies thus far. I%26#39;d prefer arriving early, not necessarily to go into the theater, but so I%26#39;m not stressing out about being stuck in traffic, finding parking, etc.
I love the suggestions for arriving at MGM early, picking up the tickets, then heading off to have a nice dinner. I got a special 35% off deal for the KA tickets ($125 tickets for about $85), and the only way to get that offer was to call.
Not exactly sure what the plans are, but if I happen to be at Treasure Island or Bellagio before or after Jubilee, I%26#39;ll try to pick up the next night%26#39;s KA tickets from the Mystere or O box office then, and save one thing to stress over.
