Hey there,
I%26#39;m trying to identify this Las Vegas building for a paper I%26#39;m writing on CSI. It%26#39;s from the opening credits. I really appreciate any help you can give!

(Link from my Flickr Page, as I don%26#39;t have rights to post images on this forum. Thanks!)
Can you help identify this Las Vegas Building?
Looks to me like the spire on top of the New York New York skyline (the one on the left if you%26#39;re looking at the hotel). You can see MGM in the background.
Can you help identify this Las Vegas Building?
Ummm no, I don%26#39;t know what that is. Anyone else?
oooo! good eye sis!
If I%26#39;m not mistaken this would be the top of one of the towers at New York, New York Hotel.
Thanks! If you do a google image search for NYNY, you can see the skyline building on the left kinda has that shape on top.
A New York tower

Yep, Sister Dino hit it. See this site, click on the video and it pans this image perfectly.

Wow -- That really was quick. Great catch, and thanks for the video. Really good work, everyone!
Okay here%26#39;s a follow-up question for extra credit. My paper is focusing on the use of color in CSI. I%26#39;m looking mostly at the presence of blues and reds to create atmosphere, and an overall ';look.'; In the image I posted, the tip of the tower is very blue, whereas in google images of this tower (available below) it is consistently covered in white light at night. If it were the CSI guys changing the color of the tower to suit their look, that would be completely consistent with my thesis.
I%26#39;m wondering if any of you have ever seen the tower colored differently, perhaps with different lights, to mark a holiday season or something like that. Has it always looked, whenever you%26#39;ve seen it, as it does in the images linked to below? Thanks again for all of your help.

It%26#39;s always looked the same to me, but the only holiday I%26#39;ve spent in Vegas has been July 4.
