Animal habitats at the casinos

So MGM has lions, Mandalay Bay Sharks. What others are there?

The Flamingo has...Flamingos and fish! =) They used to have Penguins, but the Penguins got sent to TX. Free. There are also Parrots down by the Valet entrance.

Mirage has the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat out back...$15 for adults to get in to both areas.

Silverton (off strip) has one large aquarium when you first enter the casino...Free.

Are they worth paying to go and see?

I%26#39;ve always been a big fan of the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat...I%26#39;ve been going to that for years. They recently have had a baby dolphin (well..I think Sgt. Pepper is close to a year old now), and most recently some baby white tiger cubs!! =) I gladly pay the $15 and can usually spend 1-1.5 hours here...but others breeze through and are out in about 20 minutes. =)

I wasn%26#39;t overly impressed with the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay...and think they charge too much for it. Interesting, but not great.

Of the freebies...MGM lions are usually sleeping (not always)...and the Flamingo is fun to see the different birds, fish, and Flamingos.

Thanks, im planning stuff for myself, whilst hubbing is playing poker, so I think id enjoy the secret habitat one.

Sorry, meant hubby.

caesars palace aquarium by the cheesecale factory is great, buy some cheesecake and just sit watching the fish.

I am also a great fan of the Secret Garden/Dolphin Pool. I have been going there for about 16 years and I would not think of visiting without stopping by. Like CO, I spend a great deal of time there since I have been through some births and deaths and I feel like I know most of them. Just a warning- the animals in the Secret Garden are smarter than most people. During the summer some of them find a cool place and then fall asleep in the afternoon! But it is definitely worth going to the Mirage.

I also like the animals at the Flamingo- it is kind of calm spot amid the chaos of the casinos. And it is free.

The aquariums at CP and Silverton are also nice as are the lions at MGM-another must see for me.

I am not so thrilled with Shark Reef at MB. If you have been to any fairly decent aquarium before- this one will probably be a disappointment to you. It is small and really not worth the price IMHO.

We went to Shark reef last year and I would give it a miss - not worth the money and a bit of a walk to it as well, but we did get lost.

The Mirage also has the white tiger habitat which is free I believe

If it not just animals your after check out, the baligio fountains and conservatory,The Venetian Gondola rides and Madam Tussauds , The observation platforms of Paris and Stratosphere, classic cars at Ballys or was it Harrahs

or even just wander round the casino/hotel you can kill an hour or 2 easily

The free tiger exhibit at the entrance of the Mirage is now closed.

I%26#39;m staying at the Flamingo for the first time this weekend. What%26#39;s up with the Parrots near the entrance? I%26#39;ve been to the Flamingo numerous times but never encountered Parrots. I%26#39;m asking because I am deathly afraid of birds. Weird I know, but I don%26#39;t want to be walking by any when checking in.
