Okay
Long time since driving in the US and first time in LV.
Staying at Mirage and then hiring car (from Mirage Dollar) and driving to Southpoint.
Driving back to strip to Venetian but obviously have to leave car back at Mirage........stick with me!
Whats the best way to leave Mirage to get to SP? (Friday)
Then when returning I would ideally like to leave the bags at the Venetian before leaving car back at Mirage.(Monday)
Not an easy one I know but if anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Thanks
mpo
Need driving help please
Mirage to South Point, easiest for you would be pull out of Mirage on to LV Blvd, go right/south. Keep going about 8 miles and South Point is on your right. It is Friday so there will be traffic but it is a straight shot.
To get back just go north on LV Blvd/left out of South Point. Go to Venetian on right side, drop bags than head back to Mirage and return car. Walk across street to Venetian. Pretty simple really.
Need driving help please
After reading you question Im really dazed and confused.
If you want to go from Mirage to Southpoint follow below info.
Pull out from Mirage take right on Las Vegas Blvd and stay on the Blvd for about 15 20 min heading South, Southpoint will be on your left.
Hmmm, one says it on the right, one says it on the left. Who wins?
And Diceman, 15 to 20 minutes on the strip isn%26#39;t very helpful. They could still be in front of the Bellagio.
Hey DiceMan, that%26#39;s pretty much what Norgetroll wrote. Am I the only one that would use the Interstate?
mpo8000 could leave the Mirage, turn right on the Strip to Flamingo Road and turn right (WB) to the I-15 SB to Silverado Ranch exit EB to the Southpoint.
To get to the Venetian, go back to the I-15 NB and exit at EB Spring Mountain Road. The Venetian will be on the SE corner, so turn R on the Strip and then an immediate L into the hotel driveway. Drop off your luggage.
Follow Norgetroll%26#39;s direction about getting the car back to the Mirage and as he wrote, stroll across the road without getting killed by the traffic, and you%26#39;re back at the Venetian.
On the right wins. And don%26#39;t forget to drive on the right.
I understand that you might be apprehensive about driving on the interstate highway but that is really the fastest way. Take the express way right there on Mountain springs rd, heading south. You%26#39;ll see SP on your left from the expressway. Return trip would also be fastest using the E W. Exit Mountain Springs and then take the first right, before you get to Las Vegas Blvd.
Warmwinds, it%26#39;s funny when you mention driving on the R. Driving isn%26#39;t usuall the problem, since you tend to concentrate and pay attention. It%26#39;s walking when you can get yourself in trouble!
I remember my first trip to London. I was fine driving on the L even though they put the steering wheel on the wrong side -I hit a few curbs but nothing serious. When I tried to cross a street I looked to the L to see if any cars were coming and since I didn%26#39;t see any I was about to step off the curb (kerb?) when a car zoomed along from my R. Phew.
Yikes HitchHiker, you have me confused so mpo8000%26#39;s head must be spinning.
What is ';Mountain springs rd.';?
Sorry, that should be Spring Mountain road. It run into Las Vegas blvd at th TI and then turns into Sands Ave.
OK, I may be totally wrong, but is the OP saying he is staying at the Mirage where he will rent a car, check out and drive to South Point for Fiday thru Monday, then check out of South Point Monday and drive to the Venetian to check in then drop the car back off at Mirage?
I don%26#39;t know that anyone has discussed different routes for different times of the day. It seems to me best to avoid rush hour if possible.
If driving mid morning to mid afternoon it may not be a problem to take the Strip from Mirage to SP, but of course the Interstate would be faster.
If you have lots of luggage by all means drop off your luggage, or perhaps one person could check in with the luggage while the other person returns the rental car, assuming there is more than one person in the party.
