Hi all,
Heading to Vegas in 18 days (but who%26#39;s counting) with two girlfriends and we%26#39;ve decided on our first quest. We need to find a good Irish pub to toast to my friend%26#39;s brother, who passed away a few months ago. Toasting his spirit will surely bring us good fortune on our trip. We are staying at the Excalibur and I saw that NYNY has a place called the Nine Fine Irishmen? Is this place my best bet in the area? Or do I have choices? We%26#39;ll have no car, and don%26#39;t want to to travel too far on our first night. If we do dinner here do, do we need a reservation (unsure when we are getting in so I hate to make one). Thanks for the input!
Irish pubs - Nine Fine Irishmen?
Thats the closest to Excalibur for an Irish place.
The bar is nice. The food is good and there is a lot of it.
I would get a reservation to be sure of a table. I have seen it with people waiting and empty so that can go either way.
Irish pubs - Nine Fine Irishmen?
Osheas? you can check it out! It%26#39;s an Irish inspired casino. They should have a nice bar with Irish drinks.
I%26#39;ve not personally visited it but a lot of people rate McMullan%26#39;s very highly. It%26#39;s on W Tropicana across from the Orleans.
It%26#39;s the closest Irish establishment to Excalibur and it will fit the bill for your toast.
Book ahead if you can or just turn up and be put on the wait list and you can begin toasting at the bar while you wait for your table.
We had a good night there recently and spent part of the night with some people from Ireland (would you believe)who kept mumbling into their drinks that they had no idea who the hell the nine fine irishmen were.
Have a good trip.
Hey!
Nine Fine Irishman is a great pub- it has a wonderful atmosphere and have great live music in the evenings.
There is a new Irish pub after opening in the Rio called McFaddens which I think is a New-York style Irish bar. I haven%26#39;t been there but it%26#39;s def on my list of places to go with this years trip.
O%26#39;Sheas on Freemont is hilarious! full of Irish cliches, and it is better value than NFIM.
PS- I%26#39;m Irish and I don%26#39;t know the story of the Nine Fine Irishmen, my friends and I are hoping to come across a few fine Irishmen (or Irish decendants or any nationality) on this Vegas trip!!!!

Must have been way to much of the good stuff drunk that night! O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s is on the Strip, not ';Freemont';.... :-)
McFadden%26#39;s at the Rio is ok if you%26#39;re in the neighborhood but I wouldn%26#39;t make a special trip there.
Nine Fine Irishmen does a fine job of recreating the Irish Pub experience and I would head there.
Only downer? Dublin prices to boot!!!
Spent a couple of nights in the Nine Fine Irishmen on my last trip to Vegas 3 years ago and had a great time.
They had an excellent resident band who played Irish music %26amp; songs, later on in the night they played more recent songs Snow Patrol Killers etc. They also had a young lady on a stage doing irish dancing.
Definitely worth a trip !
Even better they had Smithwicks on draft =)

Sorry!! Of Course!! I was getting all confused with Fitzgeralds Casino on Fremont. Let%26#39;s just say that I don%26#39;t tend to spend a whole lot of time sober in Vegas....

Yes, that and the 14 ounce glasses that they consider a ';pint'; lol
