Hi
I am new to this forum and I hope someone can tell me about the rooms at Fitzgeralds. Are they clean and at least fairly quiet? I don%26#39;t care much if they are somewhat outdated, but they have to be clean. We found an awesome deal for a four night stay next weekend with airfare and I would love some feedback from people who have stayed there recently, before we snap it up! We have stayed at the Gold Coast, South Point and Aladdin and Bill%26#39;s in in years past and liked them all, so I guess we are pretty easy to please.
Thanks for any advice :-)

Fitzgeralds...clean?
My mother and I stayed at Fitzgerald%26#39;s in May. The room was clean. We had 2 full size beds, a table with 2 chairs, dresser, iron and iron board, coffee maker, and an in room safe. The bathroom was large and had a long counter to put your things on. We also liked the shampoo, conditioner and lotion. It had an almond smell to it. I would stay there again.
Fitzgeralds...clean?
Thank you for your quick reply. We don%26#39;t require a fancy room, just a clean one with a comfortable bed and a cold a/c. Your report sounds good :-)

My room, I think it was 2225, was very, very clean. The only thing one could say was there were cigarette burns in the carpet between the beds, but they were clean cigarette burns! The casino is always hopping there, it is a livelier property than some of the others downtown that are ghostowns late at night/early in the morning.
On my last stay there I had found the beds to be very uncomfortable but in April 2008 they were much better.
Ask for a room away from the Fremont St. canopy if quiet in the evening is important to you- otherwiswe you%26#39;ll hear noise and see flashing lights from the light show on the canopy. I%26#39;m pretty sure you can avoid that by asking for a room on thesouth side of the hotel.
Oh, and don%26#39;t eat at that buffet- really bad! Head across to the Fremontbuffet for a better one- and pick up a 2/1 coupon for it at the Fremont Experience office - go up the elevator next to Walgreens to the second floor- the desk is open theer 24hrs a day- they give out a sheet coupons for Fremont and Main St. buffets if you join their Players Club- and a few other discounts for other Downtown spots!
make that June 2008.
Asking for a room away from the FSE is a wise move as you will experience the albeit muffled music. The one thing we did not like about the Fitz was only one area of 4 elevators for the 35 floors. It took forever to get one in the a.m. when everyone was leaving for breakfast.
Second the ';avoid the buffet'; at the Fitz. Sound advice. The only one worse is the one at the Plaza.
Have fun!
Las Vegas Hotels are not in the business to rent out dirty rooms, most all Hotels even the very lowest priced ones usually try to at least have a clean room for there patrons. You might have a few stains here and there, an outdated room, a bit noisy room but overall is should be somewhat clean.
Love gambling at the Fitz.....they have a great rewards program. I gambled what I consider to be a little there and they send me offers for free nights all the time.
I would stay there especially if you got a great deal.
Thanks everyone :-) We went ahead and booked. I appreciate all your input.

Yup, I spead my gambling around downtown and the Fitz is the only hotel to send me offers. My last one was for 2 nights and $100 towards airfare and some free slot play.
I found the best Goldfish machine there that kept me entertained for 3 hours while paying out $124 on pennies, and I was only betting .60 per spin. Hopefully that will get me another offer!
