How far from Laughlin to see some good sights of the Canyon ? Will be flying in at the end of August.
Any help on things to see and do ? We have a 4 yr old.
Thanks John.
Grand Canyon
Williams, Arizona is about 3 hours from Laughlin. There is a great steam train that travels to the South Rim from there. The prices vary depending upon the services of the car you choose. My grandson loved it when he was 5. You will spend about three hours at the Canyon when you arrive. It is well worth the money.

Grand Canyon
The best way to see Grand Canyon is to spend at least one night in the national park. That way you get to experience sunset and sunrise there, plus be able to spend time at all the viewpoints.
GC National Park South Rim is a 3.5-4 hour drive from Laughlin. For lodging options go to http://www.grandcanyonlodges.com For info on the park see http://www.nps.gov/grca/ You can use Gogle maps to plot your route.
Thank you for the replies. However, we were hoping to make a day trip of seeing G.C. We only have 3 days in Nevada. Would it be convenient to do a day trip ? We have a 4 yr old. Traveling all day would be nerve racking.
For the Daddy anyway. LOL
Thanks
That would be a very long daytrip with a four year-old. Been there and done that! Why not substitute Grand Canyon NP for Laughlin for one night and make it easy on everybody.
What about south rim walkway ?
Drive to Williams and take the train. like grif said.....its great!
Not sure I understand the question about South Rim walkway. Perhaps you%26#39;re concerned about safety? When you%26#39;re at the rim, you%26#39;ll want to have your child%26#39;s hand in yours, of course. Was that it?
Are you mixing up the South Rim which is the Grand Canyon National Park with the West Rim Skywalk on the Hualapai nation?
GC National Park is great and can be done in a day but you%26#39;re talking about a 12-14 hour day. The West Rim sky walk is closer but I don%26#39;t know if kids that young can go out on it.
My 2 Cents. Save the Canyon for when your kid is older. Try Oatman. It%26#39;s a short trip and what kid wouldn%26#39;t love the burros?
My fault ! My question was on the West Rim. Yeah, I do not like long road trips. I thought the West Rim Sky Walk might not be that far away. 10 to 12 hour day in a car is not fun for him.
Thanks to all for the help.
John
The Skywalk is still an all day trip from Laughlin and will cost a lot more money for a family of three. Entrance fees will run about $80 per person there, where as at the Grand Canyon Nat%26#39;l Park at the South Rim it will $25 for the car. Big difference. Not to mention the difference in what you%26#39;ll see and experience there.
