How much per day?

We are headed to Vegas with another couple in just 19 days. We have never traveled with them before and are really looking forward to it. The wife asked me how much per day we plan to bring and she was shocked by my answer. So I thought I would ask the forums what do you bring to spend on food, fun and gambling if your room is already paid for?

I know there are no right or wrong answers, I am just curious what others feel is enough.

How much per day?

We can get by on about $100 apiece per day, but we usually eat breakfast, no lunch, then eat a buffet using our American Casino Guide coupon (2 for 1) at night.

How much per day?

this Q is asked often - a search will get you many threads, and even more answers.

You%26#39;re right, no right or wrong - you can eat for $20 a day or $400 (I%26#39;ve done both on the same trip) gamble for $0 or a few K.

The right answer is whatever you are comfortable with.

I would rather do like bridge and the upper end per day, but we can%26#39;t afford it and hope the other couple doesn%26#39;t try and spend more than their budget allows...you and bridge are correct that there is no right or wrong since we all have different life styles and budgets.

Yes, I think you will certainly get varying answers here. The only thing that DH and I use cash for is gambling, cabs and all tips. For a long weekend (Fri pm, Sat, Sun, leave Mon,) we would bring with us about $1200 for both of us to gamble with. We have a small ';surplus'; in an account with an ATM card if we feel that%26#39;s not enough but it usually is more than enough! (Course, our hopes are that we come back with MORE than we brought!) :)

We use a credit card or charge to the room any food that we get.

DH is watching me read this and he says that $50 would be enough for him per day but his wife has needs to push buttons on machines. :)

Wish my countdown was only 19 days...good luck!

Since the OP is more or less taking a poll and not looking for rights and wrongs - I%26#39;ll happily oblige since I%26#39;m curious how others get by as well.

We usually allocate $500/day. If we dont spend it all, then we add it to the next days allowance. Winnings (and the have been rare) are set aside to bring back home.

We gamble quite a bit, so we normally take about $200 each per day just for gambling. Then we use credit cards for food. If you%26#39;re not much of a gambler, just $200 per day sounds good. Hey, you%26#39;re going to Vegas, you want to have FUN, right? Don%26#39;t mortgage the house for it, though.

bridge usually doesn%26#39;t come back so not sure she%26#39;ll see this, but Huny maybe you%26#39;ll read this again...I am just curious out of a $500 daily budget, how much of that is for food though? I am guessing you dine somewhere that is gourmet? Or is the majority spent gambling? (I am just curious so hope you aren%26#39;t offended by my inquiry)

This trip, we took between $1200-1500/day for food/drink/gambling/shopping/spa trips.

Before, we%26#39;ve budgeted as little as $250-500/day.

For our November trip, we%26#39;re looking at around $2k/day.

Everyone is different and no one can tell you how much to take. I go to Vegas to gamble and my food and room is comped. I take enough money to gamble with and of course I always have my ATM card on hand.

We take a little over a thousand for both of us but weeks before we leave, I always start stashing money in my secret compartment in my wallet. Everything was great until my wife found out and she now raids my wallet while I%26#39;m sleeping.
